Duoderm Tegasorb Hydrocolloid
Invacare Hydrocolloid Dressing Duoderm Alternative
Invacare Hydrocolloid Dressing Duoderm Alternative
Features foam back with outstanding moisture vapor transfer rate and absorption while cushioning the wound. Water resistant dressing is appropriate for moderately draining wounds. INVACARE's Sterile hydrocolloid dressing for a wound, bedsore or pressure ulcer with mild to moderate exudate or drainage. When the adhesive mass becomes wet any excess fluid is vented by evaporation through the smart film backing. Hydrocolloid dressings promote a moist wound-healing environment. This moldable dressing is composed of a hydrocolloid adhesive and a low-friction, polyurethane film outer cover. It is impermeable to liquids and bacteria and permeable to oxygen and water vapor. Flexible and conformable to body contours. Hydrocolloid dressings are wafer dressings that comprise colloidal particles mixed into an adhesive. Clinicians apply hydrocolloid dressings directly to the wound site, changing the dressing every three to five days. When fluid from the wound comes into contact with the hydrocolloid dressing, it forms a gel that covers the wound and keeps the wound hydrated. Hydrocolloid dressings assist in preventing bacterial contamination of the wound bed. In addition, hydrocolloid dressings are waterproof, which helps the wound bed maintain its own moist environment. For light to moderately exudating wounds; the border won’t roll or stick, helping to increase wear time. Sterile.
The foam back helps absorption and provides padding for pressure sore areas. This is a new more economical product that is similar to more well-known brand of Duoderm dressings. Think of it as a generic and cost effective form of Duoderm. A long-time favorite of home health nurses for treating pressure sores especially effective on sacral coccyx area above buttocks, elbows and heels.
TIP: Apply Skin-Prep first to area where dressing is to be applied, allow it to dry, and apply dressing or patch. Dressing will definitely stay in place longer and skin will be protected when removed.
