Successfully Promoting your Home Care Agency on the Internet

Try not to fall in the trap of a "cookie cutter" narrative.

By Clare Absher RN, BSN

It is vital that your listing in our directory or other online resources be uniquely yours and does not come across to a prospective client like "blah, blah, blah". In the space allotted to describe your agency in our directory, try not to fall in the trap of a "cookie cutter" narrative that sounds similar to all of your competitors. Instead, share a personal snippet about you the owner or manager such as your background in healthcare, passion for caregiving, or past experience caring for a family member.

Focus on specific caregiving principles that matter most to you and subsequently are portrayed in the caregivers that you hire. Depict your values on caregiving by highlighting an emphasis on training and education of caregivers or special caregiver recognition programs supported by your agency. Illustrate your commitment to your community through mention of your involvement in local health fairs and programs at senior centers. Tout state and national awards and achievements that your agency proudly has accomplished. Share a genuine testimonial from a former client or a warmhearted caregiver story. Sincerely express what makes your agency a better choice for homecare then others being considered.
