Areas We Serve: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda
Kindly Care was founded in 2014 by the same team that had previously helped over 8 million people lose weight at CalorieCount.com. Our careers have always been centered on companies with strong social missions, and as we experienced the aging process of our own parents, we started thinking about how to make this process less painful for everyone else.
What we came up with is a modern agency that uses mobile apps to replace time-consuming manual tasks such as scheduling of shifts and processing of timesheets. As a result, we are more efficient and can pass on the savings to our clients. Our commission is only 20%, which allows our clients to save between $6-16/hr compared to the traditional agencies in the Bay Area. When this price differential is applied over an entire year, the savings can be as high as $50,000 or more!
Today, Kindly Care has over 1,000 caregivers in our network, and we serve the San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties.
We have helped clients save over $50,000/year in home care expenses. The solution is simple: work with caregivers directly, and rely on Kindly to make it 1) Legal, 2) Safe, and 3) Convenient.
1) Legal - We are strong believers that elder care providers should be W-2 employees rather than independent contractors, and that they should receive a fair wage with overtime, as well as unemployment insurance, Medicare and Social Security. To that end, we set up each home care client with a domestic payroll and handle the weekly time sheets, quarterly tax filings, as well as year-end tax paperwork. We also provide general and professional liability insurance, as well as a commercial crime bond and non-owned auto insurance.
2) Safe - All of our caregivers are screened in person, as well as background checked and reference checked. We also record a short video that allows our home care clients to pre-select their caregivers even before they interview them at home.
3) Convenient - Each home care client has their own account manager, and a Registered Nurse is available to create a Plan of Care and, if needed, assist with filing the long term care insurance paperwork. Last but not least, if your caregiver is unable to work a shift, our Care Managers arrange back up assistance so you are never left without help.
