iCare Elder Services, LLC in Scranton, PA is looking for personal care aides/Direct care worker to join our strong strong team. We are located on 219 N. Main Ave, #210, Scranton, PA. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide assistance to patients in day-to-day activities
Ensure patients receive their proper medication in a timely manner
Communicate with medical professionals about patients' health or issues that may arise
Prepare and administer meals in accordance with dietary needs
Provide general attention to Patient’s non-medical needs in accordance with a Plan of Care.
Provides companionship for Patients’ including talking and listening, reading aloud, and providing social and emotional support.
Promote the Patient's mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.
Provides emotional support and promotes a sense of well-being,
Provide for a dean, safe, and healthy environment for Patients and family members. Provides light housekeeping tasks including laundering of Patient's garments and linens,
Prepare and serve meals as directed and ensure dishes are washed and kitchens is clean after each meal.
Assists Patient in completing necessary phone calls, letter writing, etc.
Accompanies Patients on walks, community trips, doctor's offices, banks, beauty salons, etc.
Reminds Patient to take self-administered medications.
Observes and reports any changes in the Patient's mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Patient’s home setting and automobile. Contact with blood or other body fluids may pose a risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious diseases.

POSITION PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work requires light physical exertion on a regular and reoccurring basis, such as driving, assisting the Patient in activities, and light housekeeping. You are regularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear and occasionally required to reach and lift. ICES requires all employees prior to any offer of employment being extended; all employees must successfully pass a state mandatory criminal background check.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working as a personal care aide or similar field
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain empathetic to patient needs
High attention to detail
