3M Tegasorb™ THIN hydrocolloid dressings are sterile wound dressings, which consist of a hypoallergenic, hydrocolloid adhesive with an outer clear adhesive cover film. The inner layer of hydrocolloid which is thinner then standard dressing is more conformable to difficult locations and but still able to absorb minimum to moderate amount of exudate. (drainage. The breathable outer film layer provides a consistently high rate of moisture vapor transmission. Together, these features ensure an optimal moist wound environment, minimize the chance for damage to healthy periwound skin and provide extended wear for up to seven days.
These combination dressings with transparent film on outer edge help the inner hydocolloid dressing to adhere better and are gentle on the skin surrounding the wound. Especially good to use when this skin is reddened from friction or shear or starting to shows any signs of breaking down.
